Why can’t they just be a counterbalance to Fox News?

I’m beginning to think that they might be trolling the bottom to see if they can pick up viewers from Glenn Beck after he’s finally gone.

Why can’t they just be a counterbalance to Fox News?

MSNBC is the counterbalance to Fox news, they have both even acknowledged it in statements by their employees at various times. Fox still kicks MSNBC’s ass in viewership though so I’m not exactly sure how well they are doing at it.

But anyway I digress, CNN adopted a different tactic right about the time Obama was elected, they had flirted with leaning right and then flirted with leaning left but neither had produced higher ratings. They decided that they were just going to present the news, (I know, how boring is that?). For the last two years they have attempted to refrain from any obvious partisanship in their reporting and have seen their ratings slide into oblivion because of it.

It doesn’t surprise me that they would bring on Psychics or bigfoot hunters or UFO abductees, they need to boost their ratings and viewership. Question is why aren’t all those people who decry the political “spinning” of the news tuning into CNN every night and supporting their effort to be a “pure” news source?

Maybe because it is effing boring? :p
